Nominations for Chicago Innovation Awards May 11, 2011

Nominations are being accepted for the Chicago Innovation Awards.

  • Nominate your favorite innovative product, service or company (that is produced or based in the Chicagoland area) for the 10th Annual Chicago Innovation Awards.

Nominations will be accepted now through July 31st. To be eligible for a Chicago Innovation Award, the product, service, or company nominated must be:

  • Introduced within the past 3 years.
  • Headquartered in the greater Chicago region, including the northern half of Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and northwest Indiana.
There is no cost or fee to be nominated and you can nominate your own company, product or service.
The judging will take place in August and September, and all nominees are invited to attend a Nominee Reception at the House of Blues Chicago in mid-September. The judges will announce the top 75 nominees in late September and invite this group to to “The Practical Innovator” at Kellogg School of Management.
Winners receive great exposure, including:
– Each winner will be profiled in a special 5-page section of the Chicago Sun-Times that hits newsstands the morning after the Chicago Innovation Awards ceremony.
– Each winner will be invited by TechAmerica to ring the opening NASDAQ bell in New York City, gaining global recognition for their achievements.
Nominees should meet the following criteria:
  • Did the product/service meet an unmet need?
  • How unique is the product/service?
  • Is this the first of its kind? If not, how is it different or better than existing products/services?
  • Has the product/service been imitated, replicated or reproduced?
  • What financial evidence or market acceptance information does the product/service have to support it? What is its quantifiable evidence of success?
